Small Lot Presentation Given to NYC’s HPD focusing on Modular, Affordable Housing

Soluri Architecture gave a presentation today at NYC’s Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) that demonstrated the tremendous potential in developing the thousands of NYC’s small infill lots and how it could help solve NYC’s affordable housing crisis.

SA principal was invited to give the presentation by Leila Bozorg who is HPD’s Deputy Commissioner for Neighborhood Strategies.

The presentation focused on strategies of how to effectively plan new multi-family buildings on small lots and how modular construction can make the development of affordable housing on small lots more viable.

The presentation also touched on the potential to create upto 38,000 new affordable housing units by changing the minimum lot size requirements noted in NYC’s zoning resolution ZR 23-32.
