Soluri Architecture Advocates to Congress for Small Business

October 13, 2020

Today Soluri Architecture’s principal Andre Soluri participated in a advocacy video call for small businesses with Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12). The call was organized through Goldman Sach’s 10,000 Small Business Voices advocacy program and comprised of small business owners who live and/or work in New York’s 12th congressional district. Andre was one of the speakers during the call where he expressed the importance of recovery funding for small businesses and pressed for a liability shield to protect small businesses  providing recovery work from COVID-19.

Through his volunteer work with the AIA New York Unified Task Force, Andre believes it’s critical that professionals providing pro-bono services that hep their communities recover from emergencies are protected from litigation arising from their good samaritan efforts.

This is the 3rd time that Andre has advocated to Congress on behalf of small businesses through Goldman’s 10000 Voices program and the 2nd time advocating for continued federal government support of small businesses during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Participation in the 10000 Small Business Voices program is limited to graduates of the Goldman Sachs 10000 Small Businesses program which Andre completed in 2018 as part of NYC Cohort 23
