The Soma Condominium is a six-story addition to an existing industrial building in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, as the developer wanted to transform the building into a luxury, boutique condominiums.
As project architect, Soluri Architecture principal Andre Soluri assisted the client in the final stages of the building’s design. He also prepared the final construction documents set including the coordination of architectural, structural and MEP drawings. As project architect, responsibilities included project management, constructability issues, the review of all shop drawings, and coordination of all field conditions during the initial months of construction and demolition.
The final project uses a minimal and modern language for an understated elegance and luxury, achieving the client’s goal of creating a new boutique luxury condominium building.
