We’re thrilled to announce that for a second year in a row, Soluri Architecture is a finalist in the prestigious NYCxDesign Awards. For this year’s 2020 Awards, The Vidro has been named a finalist under the “Multi-unit Residential Building” category!!!

The Vidro is Soluri Architecture’s first new building in NYC, and our first new multi-family residential building. By naming the building as one of five finalists, the Jury has effectively stated The Vidro is one of the top five new multifamily buildings in NYC for 2020.

Having this project included among a shortlist of finalists who are some of the most active, important and respected firms in NYC and internationally is huge honor. This year our four fellow finalists in the “Multi-Unit Residential Building” category include the internationally renown Rafael Vinoly Architects for 277 Fifth Ave, as well as Deborah Burke Partners for 40 East End Ave, Lemay + Escobar Architects for The Summit, and Alexander Gorlin Architects for The Jennings.

The NYCxDesign Awards is sponsored by Interior Design magazine and ICFF. It’s a global design competition celebrating the outstanding products and projects of New York City across major areas of design — from architecture to interiors, products to accessories, craft to technology. According to their website the “Winners and Honorees, represent the very best design talent” are selected by “a jury of design industry leaders”.

Because of the current pandemic, winners will be announced at an virtual awards ceremony on Monday, May 18th at 1pm EST that will be hosted by editor in chief Cindy Allen. It will be live-streamed on DesignTV by SANDOW and on Interior Design’s Facebook page as part of DesignTV by SANDOW programming. This Fall there will be an in-person award ceremony giving all winners an opportunity to pick up their awards and come together as a community.

The Vidro was a Finalist and Honoree in last year’s 2019 NYCxDESIGN Awards under the “Building Exterior” category and was featured during the 2019 NYCxDESIGN Award Ceremony. The other finalists included SHoP Architects, ODA and DXA Studio who are some of the most active, important and respected firms in NYC.
