NYC Design Corps Launches to help small business

Launch & Co-founding of “Design Corps”

August 19, 2020

We are thrilled to announce the launch of “Design Corps: Small Business Reopening Network” – a platform that connects under-resourced NYC restaurants that are struggling to survive the pandemic with volunteer design professionals offering pro-bono services to help them re-open and stay open safely under NYC’s Open Restaurant program.

As a member of the AIANY’s Unified Task Force, Soluri Architecture’s principal Andre Soluri, became one of the co-founders of the Design Corps along with colleagues from NYC’s Economic Development Corp (EDC), NYCxDesign, and Design Advocates.

The Design Corps is a platform where struggling small business owners request guidance from volunteer architects, designers and engineers to navigating the complex realities of operating a business during this pandemic.

In addition to co-founding the Design Corps, Andre also produced and directed the program’s training video for professionals who are volunteering.
